Cloud Security Engineer (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Cloud Security Engineer to join a leading dental business support organization. The Cloud Security Engineer helps operate and secure the organization s cloud application infrastructure that aligns with business needs. The position is responsible for supporting innovation and providing direction to elevate the organization s security posture within a multi-cloud computing infrastructure.

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid working 4 days onsite and 1 day remote per week)

This job expects to pay about $51 - 56 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and maintain secure, resilient enterprise-grade cloud processes in alignment with developers, architects, and frameworks like SOC2, ISO, and CSA.
• Secure business applications and computing environments across public, private or hybrid cloud infrastructures.
• Protect cloud-based business applications in compliance with privacy, security, business resiliency, and regulatory (HIPAA, PCI) requirements.
• Maintain a consistent, secure environment using configuration management solutions.
• Conduct rigorous oversight of security systems and security configuration administration to reduce risk to enterprise systems and accounts.
• Manage Cloud based vulnerabilities across COMPANY teams using commercial and open-source toolsets.
• Work with internal teams to maintain strong identity and access management (IAM) controls across applications and computing environments.

What Gets You The Job:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field, or equivalent industry experience. AWS Security or CCSP certifications are a plus.
• At least 3-5 years experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner and with at least 2-3 years exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong Vulnerability Management skills using tools like Qualys, Tenable, Wiz, or similar. Ability to prioritize findings, communicate across teams, and manage the remediation process.
• Strong Linux and Windows support skills.
• Experienced in cloud networking architecture and cloud operations, with cloud access security broker (CASB) experience preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Cloudflare, and Salt.
• Network and encryption experience, including virtual private networks (VPNs), IPsec, SSL/TLS, LDAP and public key infrastructure (PKI).
• IAM experience, particularly with Okta
